This is key for uploading to DungeonFog later, as you need to select if you are uploading a file as Asset or Texture.Specifically, it was Campaign Cartographer 3 and a bunch of its addons.
Campaign Cartographer 3 Patch 7 Software Of ChoiceAs the videos on my channel so far might have given away, I have chosen DungeonFog as my map making software of choice, at least when it comes to smaller scale area maps.
Ever since working on The Dark Lords Manor map for the Caeora Map Making Competition, I have been interested in adding in some new assets to work with in DungeonFog, and this bundle was a great way to gain access to a ton of new assets for a very affordable price. This post is mostly to serve as a tutorial for getting the assets from Campaign Cartographer 3, and its various add-ons, into DungeonFog Once you have sorted them for yourself, they can be used in any software that supports custom assets however. Even if you missed out on the bundle, you can still follow this guide if you wish to buy in to Campaign Cartographer 3 on its own. Campaign Cartographer 3 Patch 7 License Agreement ThatFirst, I feel it is very relevant to post a part of the license agreement that has allowed me to dive into this legitimately. This product includes a large amount of symbols, fill-styles and other artwork in a variety of file formats (OUR ARTWORK). This section sets out how you can distribute maps containing OUR ARTWORK. Subject to the restrictions in section ii and iii, you may freely distribute the maps you create using OUR ARTWORK in CC3 format, but not the source image files (PNG and bitmap artwork) associated with them, and you may freely distribute flat files (for example BMP and PNG) exported from CC3 or third-party applications containing OUR ARTWORK. This is taken from the Use of Symbols and Artwork section of the Pro Fantasy website. ![]() Campaign Cartographer 3 Patch 7 Install The ProgramGetting Started Before doing anything else, you need to get Campaign Cartographer 3 and install the program. I tried to install everything on a different hard drive and for some reason, some of the add-ons wouldnt recognize that I had the base Campaign Cartographer installed and would fail to install. There might be a way around this, but I chose to just take the easy way and install it in its default location. I recommend that you create a folder somewhere in your computer for map making assets that you will be using. I sort this folder further with subfolders for each source of assets as well, you can see Caeora and 2MinuteTabletop in my assets folder as well. Open your Campaign Cartographer Assets folder in one window, then open the file explorer in another window on the side of it. In the new window you need to get to where the CC3 assets are stored. If you went with the default location, the files are in C:ProgramDataProfantasyCC3Plus. At this point, things get a little technical, but I will work from the top of the folder down for finding assets and moving them over. One thing to consider right away is what resolution of assets you want to grab. The assets in CC3 are given as V ery L ow, Lo w, Hi gh, and V ery H igh. If you do decide to copy them all into your assets folder, I suggest splitting each res into its own sub folder. This is the folder structure I will be using so that you can set yourself the same way if you would like. AssetsCampaign CartographerTypeCategory Type will be Asset or Texture.
